Here are some of the highlights of the sharing courtesty of Arlene Low (facilitator of Middle Years ELA Networking Session)


  • Novel Studies for Grade 5/6: Bridge to Terabithia, Number the Stars ( Peace and Conflict topic)
  • Use “ Would you rather” or “ Darwin Awards” as writing prompts to encourage students writing, particularly boys
  • Use Dove commercials and Green Peace commercials for Media topic
